Translation memory and alignment
Never pay twice for the same sentence.
A translation memory stores every sentence you have already translated and approved, so repeated content is reused instead of retranslated. We build, align and maintain your memory, and it remains your asset, exportable at any time.

past translations made reusable
memory exportable at any time
Every approved translation becomes a reusable asset.
The memory works in the background of every project. The more you translate with it, the more it saves.
Reuse repeated content
Sentences you have already translated are recognised and reused, so you only pay in full for what is new.
Lower cost per release
Matches and repetitions are charged at reduced rates, and the saving grows with every update.
Consistent wording
The same sentence is translated the same way across manuals, product lines and markets.
Faster delivery
Reused segments do not need to be translated again, which shortens delivery times on large documents.
Alignment of past translations
Translations you already own are aligned with their source texts and added to the memory.
Standard, portable format
Your memory is delivered in TMX on request, so it works with any CAT tool and any supplier.
Three ways we put your memory to work.
A memory built from your content.
We create a dedicated memory for your company or product line and add every approved translation to it.

What alignment needs
Alignment works best with the source files and their translations in editable formats. Scanned documents can be converted first with our OCR service.
From scattered files to a reusable memory in five steps.
Collect your files
Send us existing memories, past translations and their source documents, in whatever format you have them.
Analyse the content
We check formats, languages and volumes, and tell you how much can be aligned and reused.
Align and import
Source and target sentences are paired, checked and imported into your translation memory.
Translate with the memory
New projects reuse every match, and newly approved translations are added to the memory.
Maintain and export
We keep the memory clean and consistent, and deliver it in TMX whenever you ask.
Questions about translation memory and alignment.
What is a translation memory?
A translation memory is a database that stores each source sentence together with its approved translation. When the same or a similar sentence appears again, it is suggested automatically, so it does not have to be translated from scratch.
Who owns the translation memory?
You do. The memory is built from your content and can be exported in TMX at any time, so you can use it with any tool or supplier.
What is alignment?
Alignment pairs the sentences of a source document with the matching sentences of its existing translation. The result is imported into your translation memory, so past translations become reusable.
How much can a translation memory save?
It depends on how repetitive your content is. Manuals, product documentation and regular updates often contain many repeated or similar sentences, which are charged at reduced rates.
Which formats do you work with?
We work with all common formats, including Word, InDesign, FrameMaker, XML and PDF, and deliver memories in the standard TMX format.
